From Struggle to Strength: A Journey of Healing
Dr. Aram Harijan’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Arriving in the U.S. as an immigrant from Korea, he took on construction and other jobs to make ends meet. A few years later, he faced homelessness—a brief but defining chapter in his life.
Against the odds, Dr. Aram made it to medical school and during his second year of residency, a 20-foot fall changed everything. Left unable to walk, he was forced to put his medical career on hold and rebuild both his body and his purpose.
Determined to heal, he returned to Korea, where many told him resuming his medical career was impossible — that it was too late. Luckily, Dr. Aram refused to accept that fate. He made his way back to the U.S. and just a year after landing his first job in wound care, took a bold leap: founding his own company in America’s Finest City — San Diego.
A Mission to Heal, A Promise to Care
Dr. Aram’s journey has given him a deep understanding of health and well-being. He has always been committed to going above and beyond for his patients, but one case forever changed his perspective on what needed to be done.
One patient, suffering from a severe wound on her cheek caused by skin cancer, was not receiving the care she desperately needed. Although Dr. Aram raised concerns and pushed for answers, he ultimately stepped back, trusting that those in charge would do their jobs. Tragically, they didn’t—and the patient’s life was lost. Dr. Aram was devastated, knowing her death could have been prevented.
Not long after, he encountered a nearly identical case. This time, he refused to stand by. Though not the assigned physician, he took charge of the patient’s care. Under his treatment, she made a full recovery in record time—avoiding the heartbreaking fate of the first patient.
From that moment on, Dr. Aram’s mission became crystal clear: to provide compassionate, quality care to all patients, regardless of race, age, gender, nationality, or socioeconomic status.

Since 2019, AAA Wound Care has developed to deliver the highest quality of wound and surgical care for patients in post-acute settings. Throughout the pandemic, AAA continued to provide much needed in-person care to 30% of all nursing homes in San Diego. Today, AAA is the largest wound care practice in the County.
